Defined by 3 ranges; Belt & Buckle, Opaque Crystal and Letterbox, each card is designed to the typical style of one of the three ranges.
1. Belt & Buckle describes the contrast between the two objects, one as long and flexible while the other is small and secure - a card with a pearl ivory band across the card, but split slightly to the right then adorned with specialty papers, stamped personalisation and beads. The most common example is that of the cupcake design for the Girl/Boy Age card.
2. Opaque Crystal describes the contrast between “thick as mud” and “crystal clear”, or opacity and translusency- a series of cards that consists of a solid white card background and is typically decorated with delicate layers of specialty papers including translucent paper in most designs. The most common example is that of the Christening cards.
3. Letterbox style cards are simple in design yet classic, usually consisting of a wide narrow background of white or ivory card and adorned with a variety of items. The designs are crisp, sharp and functional, rather than layered and fussy. The most common example is that of the New Baby.
